The 37th version of our limited edition Business Suits has arrived in collaboration with our friends north of the Bay Area, Black Sheep Jiu Jitsu. As this particular fit is the favorite of founders, Woolf Barnato and Danny Speirn, this suit marks the return of our popular Sport Cut - designed specifically for competition due to it's feather weight (approx. 2lb 12oz for an A1) or simply for the everyday hot academy trains. Each suit is laden with Halloween Neon Orange details on a Black canvas. Neon Halloween Orange co-branded inside taping, and slightly tapered sleeves.

The back of each Jacket features a lightweight monotone embroidered patch of a Wolf in Sheep's Clothing, a steady theme through this project.

My first Gi was a raw, unbleached Atama — the only kind Jason Izaguirre sold at the time. This suit is a tribute to that first step, and to the joy I feel watching my oldest son take his.

Pants are made from an ultra-lightweight 10oz Twill Cotton with 6-point pant loop system and T3 stitching on all seams of pants and branded taping inside cuffs. Pre-shrunk to minimize shrinkage.

For this release, we have also prepared a small batch of Kids Hunting Suits. Keep in mind that all designs and details remain the same on the kids versions but we’ve switched out the drawstring waistband for an elastic waistband for a more comfortable fit.

The Edo Period was a heavy and gruesome time in history - a point in time where shogun and their loyal samurai warriors ruled over feudal Japan. Bloodshed and war were commonplace and a strict code of Bushido was strictly followed. Although a bloody part of history, it is indeed history, and one we feel ties into the DNA of the roots of our beloved Jiu Jitsu.

Although not in all cases, Seppuku, or "self-disembowelment", was performed when capture was inevitable, to avoid falling into the hands of the enemy and being tortured. This ritual act of taking one’s own life was thought to be a definitive demonstration of a samurai’s courage, strong resolve, and self-control, for seppuku is an extremely painful, slow way to die. It showed a true samurai’s sincerity of purpose.
