"Kaminari" means "thunder & lightning" and it was a name that stuck while we were visiting farms and Jiu Jitsu academies between a drizzly Tokyo and Kyoto.

Purifying Yuzu juice and detoxifying Sasanishiki rice water are blended with an anti-fungal combo of Japanese bamboo charcoal and Tsubaki oil. Each bar also contains Matcha Tea Powder sourced from the Ippudo Tea farm in Kyoto.  Matcha Tea is a natural antibiotic and rich in Chlorophyll which naturally stimulates the wound healing process. Crushed Sakura (cherry blossoms) and Green Tea leaves are added to gently exfoliate your skin.

Our hybrid version of a super-powered African Black Soap dedicated to one of Jiu Jitsu's greatest American athletes, Keenan Cornelius.

This bar is infused with rare Manuka oil, which can only be found on the east cape of New Zealand’s North Island and has 20-30 times more bacterial/fungal fighting properties than Australian Tea Tree oil.  The soap is made black with the ash of Cacao Pods and Plantain peels.

Our fourth arrival- "The Milk n' Honey Batch" - was inspired by our love for sourcing ingredients from local farmers themselves.

Infused with Organic Goat's Milk and local Santa Barbara Honey that is extracted by hand, we also blended in anti-bacterial Lemon Oil and anti-inflammatory Rosemary Oil.  Each bar is also sprinkled with a dash of exfoliating Poppy Seeds.

A powerful bacteria destroyer inspired by antibacterial and anti-fungal ingredients found in the Northern hemisphere. 

A trip to Montreal, Quebec, Canada, in early 2018 led us to a Farmers Market (Marché Jean Talon) and subsequently a local soap bar that would inspire our latest After-Training Soap creation - “The Northern Knight Batch” - a powerful bacteria destroyer infused with antibacterial and anti-fungal ingredients from the Northern hemisphere. 

A “Maple Syrup Soap Bar” - coaxed our curiosity and further research would lead us to learning of the 54 compounds within the sweet substance containing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.  We’ve also added in two other sticky substances - Canadian Honey and Organic Pine Tar, whose piney scents and antiseptic properties paired well with the Pine needle oil we also sourced from Canada.  Another major ingredient in this batch is fresh Dragon’s Blood Extract - a crimson resin (lending its color to the bar) that has been used to heal wounds, both internally and externally, since the 1600’s.  We’ve also added in a 3-oil concoction of bacteria-killing Himalayan Cedar Wood, Phenol-charged Oregano, and our signature high-grade Australian Tea Tree.  A mineral-rich Alaskan Glacial Mud was then blended in to pull impurities from the skin while Marshmallow Root crumbs were infused to both moisturize and exfoliate any dead skin acquired during heavy training.  Winter is coming...

This translucent, tropical blue 10 oz. behemoth was inspired by the deep blue sea...and the 50+ foot giants that once regulated it.  Each and every bar comes infused with a supercharged, organic, infection-fighting blend of Sea Buckthorn Oil, Australian Tea Tree Oil, Kukui Nut Oil, and Key Lime Oil (which also lends it’s fresh, citrusy scent to the batch). Each bar is also infused with Dead Sea Salt crumbles - highly regarded for it’s special ability to detoxify pores and remove any unwanted bacteria within.  Next, we added a dash of a pirate-classic - Rum, distilled in the town of Koloa on the island of Kaua’i, for it’s strong, antiseptic properties.  We then sprinkled in a handful of skin-soothing, anti-inflammatory, Mugwort Root Powder, commonly harvested for it’s ability to neutralize Urushiol - the active ingredient in Poison Oak and Poison Ivy.  The batch is finally rounded off with a healthy pour of organic, California-grown Avocado Oil, for it’s essential fatty-acids that help to moisturize skin, reduce inflammation, and accelerate the wound healing process.  As they say, “The ground is our ocean”, and the “Mat-Megalodon” was created specifically to cleanse and protect us from the skin infections that can often come with the murky territory.

A soap bar worthy of a title like “The Absolute Batch”, this Ultra Heavyweight 10oz. mega-bar comes loaded with bacteria-killing ingredients sourced World Wide - UMF 20+ Manuka Honey from New Zealand joins forces with a powerful fungus-fighting blend of Tea Tree, Thyme, and Cedarwood. Virgin Coconut oil deeply moisturizes while shredded Orange peels exfoliate dead skin acquired during heavy training. We polished off this giant with a potent infusion of “4 Thieves Oil” (Lemon, Rosemary, Clove, Eucalyptus, Cinnamon) - an herbal blend notoriously made famous by four grave-robbing thieves in the 15th century during the dark times of “The Bubonic Plague”.   The thieves would coat themselves in the special concoction before robbing infectious dead bodies of their jewels to avoid becoming infected.  Centuries later, we’ve harnessed this exact medicinal blend in our latest after-training creation.

Like the “Purple mountain majesties” of the Rockies, our latest bacteria-slaughtering Mega Bar glows like a backlit Amethyst stone.  Strictly powered by ingredients grown on US soil, “The American Spring Batch” was inspired by just that; beginning with the pure Spring Water we source from Upstate New York, all the way to the 90-proof Tennessee Whiskey we’ve injected into each bar.  A heavy dose of American Witch Hazel from Connecticut is then combined with a potent infection-fighting trifecta of USA-distilled Tea Tree Oil + USA-grown Carrot and Eucalyptus Oil.  From California, where all of our soap products are crafted, we’ve added in a healthy pour of vitamin-rich Goat’s Milk along with raw unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar to soothe and fortify damaged skin.  From Colorado, we’ve sourced Organic Wheat flower and Wheat germ oil for their high volume of Vitamin E, Folic Acid, and Vitamin B6 which help to prevent skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema and dry skin.  Next, handfuls of USP-grade Epsom Salt are generously scattered in to soothe soar muscles.  Finally, a plentiful amount of Hawaiian Mango Butter is added to deeply rehydrate while Florida Strawberry seeds, sprinkled in to exfoliate any dead skin acquired during heavy training, seamlessly float in this 10oz. purple mammoth.  This batch features a top note of freshly baked Apple pie with subtle notes of Eucalyptus.  As the Jiu Jitsu scene in the USA continues to grow, so does our army of sudsy Black Belts, this one powered by ingredients grown in the soil of the Red, White, and Blue...yet designed to protect Jiu Jitsu Players worldwide.

An after-training soap bar born in the tropics - our latest bacteria fighter was created with a goal of featuring some of the most powerful fungal-fighting + skin-nourishing ingredients specifically sourced from equatorial climates from around the world, we began by cultivating the roots of this batch with pure Hawaiian Spring Water before infusing it with an abundance of vitamin-rich tropical fruit juices + extracts from Pineapple, Hibiscus, and Barberry. 

Each bar is then supercharged with an antifungal trio of our Australian Tea Tree Oil, Mandarin Orange Oil, and O’ahu-harvested Kukui Nut Oil.

A sweet-scented, supersized bacteria-hunting soap brick inspired by the predatory creatures of myth and folklore.  Although rare, super packs of wolves have been recorded in the hundreds. These packs develop social bonds so strong they’ve been known to sacrifice themselves for the survival of the pack.  Similarities of family and unity can be found throughout Jiu Jitsu academies around the world.  We knew a bar built around a creature so formidable deserved a fungal-fighting formulation to match.  We began by infusing this batch with one of the strongest natural bacteria killing oils on earth - East Cape Manuka oil, an ingredient that has been proven to be more than 33x more effective in eliminating the Staphylococcus Aureus (Staph) strain than it’s Australian counterpart.  We’ve combined this with a potent, fungus fighting 5-oil-blend of Night Blooming Jasmine, Vetiver, Clary Sage, Tea tree, and Cypress. We then added in a healthy helping of Myrrh Resin Powder - used by the Egyptians for centuries to promote quick wound healing.  Next, a bountiful amount of North American Blueberry Oil was poured in for its powerful antioxidants and high levels of alpha linolenic acid, an essential fat known for healing damaged skin.  This 10oz. pink giant is finally finished off with a healthy helping of organic, moisture-rich Kokum Butter to rehydrate skin while a hefty dash of Apricot Seed Powder is sprinkled in each bar to exfoliate any dead skin acquired during heavy training.  Created to cleanse and protect us from the mat-born infections that often stalk us we step on the mat, we invite you to run with the Arm Bar wolf pack.

“Spider Guard Serum” was dreamed up in a jacuzzi in early 2018 after a long week of open guard specific training.  A stiff neck, soar fingers, and balled-up forearm muscles left us plotting what a simpler method of recovery could be. 

Enter - "Spider Guard Serum" - an all natural roll-on gel, 100% formulated and lab-tested in San Diego, California to aid us from the minor injuries that we procur from hard rounds day in and day out. The ability of our premium, Colorado-Grown Hemp Extract, that recent studies have shown to help relieve pain and impede strains and sprains acquired during heavy training has catapulted it into the forefront of modern sports medicine.

This mummy-wrapped, Gi-clad, glowing orange bacteria and fungus-fighter comes jam-packed with our signature Australian Tea Tree Oil to which we joined it’s antibacterial forces with antiviral Organic Witch Hazel, which works dually as an astringent while warding off potential infection. Cinnamon Oil was also trickled into each bar due to numerous studies showing the undeniable bacteria and fungus-killing benefits of this sweet-scented bark’s liquid extract. 

We then add in a healthy dose of vitamin and antioxidant-rich ingredients like Wolf Berry Extract + Blackberry Extract to stop free-radicals that can damage skin cells while calming and soothing naturally as they’re absorbed into the skin. 

Kaolin Clay is a brand new ingredient we incorporated into this batch - a miracle powder that absorbs excess oils without stripping the skin of its natural oils. This Organic Apple Cider Vinegar-based liquid was designed to avoid over-shampooing while providing a gentle cleanse that will not strip hair of natural oils. Our pure ACV base helps to seal hair cuticles, hence adding shine while helping to balance your hairs PH levels. ACV also helps to gently exfoliate the scalp and unclog hair follicles as naturally as possible. 

We’ve also added in our trusted blend of Organic Tea Tree Oil and Organic Lavender Oil to give “GrappleSauce” an extra boost of bacteria + fungus-fighting capabilities along with Macadamia Nut Oil to rehydrate the hair and scalp during the cleansing process. Introducing a Yeti-sized brick of fungus-fighting glycerine as dark as a moonless night in Tanzania; a soap bar that is truly unique in the realm of Jiu Jitsu, where the Arctic converges with Africa. Our 25th After-Training soap batch has taken more than a year to develop.

We start by using the traditional and time-consuming method of making African Black Soap. This involves roasting Cocoa Pods and Plantain Peels to produce ash, which lends the soap its dark color. Hydrating Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter are then generously heaped in.

Each monster block of soap is then supercharged with a powerful blend of four oils: Australian Tea Tree, Lemongrass, Arctic Peppermint, and Comfrey, which work together to eliminate mat-born bacteria. Inspired by ancient Viking medical practices for wound healing, Comfrey Oil and Yarrow Flower are generously loaded in every bar.

High-Mountain Honey was then drizzled in. A nectar renowned globally for its antibacterial qualities, various warrior cultures of the past, including the Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, and Knights, utilized this adaptable sweet substance to safeguard wounds from infection.

Every Yeti bar was rounded off with touch of organic Licorice Powder, which was commonly used in the Middle Ages to calm irritated skin. We also tossed in a dash of Activated Coconut Charcoal Powder to help remove impurities while a heavy pour of Coconut Oil offers bountiful rehydration to skin. Ground Walnut Shells were finally sprinkled in to exfoliate away any dead skin acquired during heavy training.

Inspired by the monsters that roam the mountains of our homeland and the Kalo (Taro) fields that are synonymous with Kaua'i. Each suit is laden with red dirt, white, and maroon details on a black canvas, camouflage inside taping, and slightly tapered sleeves

Red dirt colored accents make up most of the suits patch work, embroideries, and inside screen prints as this iron-rich red soil, which can be found across all of the Hawaiian Islands, is a special signature of the west side of Kaua’i.

Jacket is made from a high-quality, pre-shrunk 450gram Pearl Weave Cotton material with a 10 oz. twill cotton skirt featuring single needle Kalo embroidery. It features a durable, rubberized, Ripstop collar with T3 stitching and branded taping inside lapel and cuffs.

We proudly introduce "The Fury of Achilles" tee, created to honor the great mythological warrior of Greece - Achilles. A soldier so mighty and thought to be a descendant of the Gods, Achilles famously led his army into the battle of Troy where he slayed Troy's most celebrated hero, Hector.

The large back print features the work of Charles-Antoine Coypel, painted in 1737, and is entitled "The Fury of Achilles". In response to his best friend, Patroclus, being murdered by Hector of Troy, the famed warrior stampedes forward to avenge his fallen brother. Achilles is seen in the center of the painting with a bloodthirsty look in his eyes while the other characters in the painting attempt to console and restrain him. He stands on the body of someone he’s already slain and now is advancing his way towards his next victim. To do this painting justice, each tee was carefully half printed in Los Angeles and framed in an elegant gold frame similar to the style you would likely view original art work in at The Louvre.

We used to only do it for ourselves. Now we pass it on. It's an incredible experience, falling in love with Jiu Jitsu all over again through the eyes of the next generation. 

As I reminisce, I can't help but think about the times when I would train twice a day and dedicate hours to drilling on the weekends. Those moments hold a special place in my heart and remain some of my most cherished memories. Body sore all the time but always wanting more. A decade later, I continue to get it in all week, though not quite as often as I used to.

Most days it’s just me and my boys messing around in the garage gym, seeing how long they can stay on my back. But seeing their eyes light up when they throw their Gis on and learn something new generates a feeling within me that I can’t quite explain yet.
